After earning her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Springfield College, Rachel went on to pursue a master’s degree in literacy and language from Framingham State College. In her early years of teaching, Rachel was introduced to Responsive Classroom and became a consulting teacher in 2009. With over 15 years of teaching experience, Rachel currently serves as her school’s Responsive Classroom coordinator, leading workshops, coaching faculty, and collaborating with administration on implementation of Responsive Classroom practices and principles. She credits this work with further developing her philosophy of teaching, which includes building positive relationships with students and families, creating a caring classroom community, and developing engaging curriculum. When she is not teaching, Rachel enjoys reading, camping with her family, and watching her two boys play hockey.
