C.A.R.E.S. SEL Standards

The C.A.R.E.S. Standards for a Course of Study are developmentally progressive standards for social and emotional learning, developed by educators for educators. The C.A.R.E.S. standards are based on the five social and emotional competencies of cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, and self-control, which were identified through research conducted by Center for Responsive Schools in 1985.
