Karla C. Lewis

Karla Lewis joined the board in 2013 and serves on the Board Development Committee. Karla is a Project Director/Senior Research Specialist at the SERVE Center at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). At the SERVE Center, Karla conducts K-20 educational research and evaluation. At the Region 6 Comprehensive Center, she is the Project Manager for State Educational Agencies (SEA) Services. She also teaches research methods for UNCG and the University of Melbourne (Australia). Prior to SERVE, she was a Spencer Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Center for the Social Organization of Schools at Johns Hopkins University. Karla received a BA in Sociology from the University of Chicago and an MA and PhD in Educational Policy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
