Marijke Kehrhahn

Marijke joined the board in 2003 and has served as Board Chair and Vice Chair, and on the Board Development Committee and the Nominating Committee. Marijke is the Head of School of The Independent Day School, a small preK–Grade 8 school in Middlefield, CT. She began her teaching career as a middle school special educator. A former Associate Dean, Director of Teacher Education, and member of the Educational Leadership faculty at the University of Connecticut’s Neag School of Education, Marijke has been fully engaged in new teacher preparation and professional development of teachers and administrators for over 25 years. Marijke currently serves on the board of the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools and of Klingberg Family Centers in New Britain, CT. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting, a Master’s in Special Education, and a PhD from UCONN in Adult Learning.
