Michelle Edwards

Michelle Edwards joined the board in 2012 and serves as Board Chair. Michelle has been the Executive Director of Live It Learn It for over five years. Live It Learn It seeks to engage students on academic trips that inspire their curiosity about the world. The organization has served more than 22,000 students from Washington, DC’s Title I public schools. Michelle began her educational career as a teacher and then served as a principal for over a decade. Michelle participated in New Leaders, Inc. as a resident principal during its inaugural year in Washington, DC, and 10 years later served as the Director of the Emerging Leaders Program. She received a BS in elementary education from Northern Illinois University, master’s degrees from Loyola University Chicago and Trinity University, Washington, DC, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Management from the University of Pennsylvania.
